Lent 80 Can Challenge

Friday, 15 March 2019

Our collection of cans.

We last supported the Black Country Food Bank in October when we collected food as part of our Harvest celebrations. So we decided that we would attempt their Lent 80 Can Challenge.

On Friday 15th March children came to school dressed as Mad Scientist (as it had been science week) and brought cans or packets of food.

We collected loads more than the eighty we had aimed to collect. We managed to donate 273 and £50 to help with emergency food for those in need locally.

Dudley Cross Country Championships

Saturday, 9 March 2019

The girls’ cross country team.

On the 9th March children from Years 5 and 6 represented St Chad’s at the Dudley Cross Country Championships.

The event was held at Himley Hall, there was tough competition from 33 other schools in our area with over 100 children competing in both the girls and boys race.

Our pupils ran in very tough, wet, muddy conditions and our team of girls managed to secure 14th place while one of our Year 5 boys represented the boys.

All the runners had a great time representing St Chad’s and we are very proud of them.
