Lots of cakes to buy at our Macmillan Coffee Morning

On Friday 27th of September we held our annual Coffee Morning to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support.  The event was very well supported by the children, parents and staff, who donated lots of cakes, as well as lots of toys and books for the bring and buy sale.

The children enjoyed spending their money at the bring and buy sale, whilst the staff and parents enjoyed the tea, coffee and cakes!  It was all for a great cause and everybo0dy gave generously enabling us to make a lot of money for Macmillan, the grand total was almost £1,000.

Thank you all for your fantastic support!

The Year 6 children being presented for the Sacrament of Confirmation.

On Thursday 26th of September, the children in Year 6 who are to be Confirmed by Bishop McGough at the end of November were enrolled for the Sacrament of Confirmation.

The children were presented by their parents, sponsors or carers to Fr. Paul during the Mass, and made their commitment to attend Mass and participate fully in the Confirmation preparation programme.  Each child added their name to a flame on the Confirmation display board, it is hoped that members of the Parish community will remember these children in their prayers.

All of the children were given a ‘prayer bag’ containing a red cloth, a small holding cross, a small tea light and a prayer card containing ‘The Prayer to the Holy Spirit’.  We hope the children will use these at home in the lead up to their Confirmation.
