The church looked beautiful for the carol service.

On Tuesday the 17th of December we held our annual Carol Service in St. Chad’s Church.  The staff read the readings and the church was full of children and parents who joined in with all the carols.

It was a lovely service and it helped us all take some time out of the ‘Christmas chaos’ and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas.

Year 1 singing

Thank you to all those who joined us for our Christmas Coffee Morning on Friday 13th December.  Each class performed a Christmas song and poem before singing a traditional Christmas Carol, which helped to remind us all about the true meaning of Christmas.

The hall was full of parents and grandparents watching their children perform and enjoying a hot drink and a mince pie.  It was a lovely morning and helped get everyone in the festive spirit.

The St. Chad’s ‘Frozen’ tree

The children of St. Chad’s sing at Sedgley Christmas Tree Festival at All Saints Church every year.  This year we were also invited to decorate a tree to be part of the festival.   Mrs Westwood along with some of  the key stage 2 children have worked really hard to make decorations and really enjoyed decorating our school tree.  The theme of this year’s Christmas tree festival is ‘Disney films and characters’.   We chose to the film Frozen as the theme for our tree,  I’m sure you’ll agree that it looks amazing.

The children helping decorate our tree

The Christmas Tree Festival begins at 10am on Friday 6th December with the blessing of the trees and runs throughout the weekend until Monday 9th December.  Local school choirs (including St. Chad’s Year 3), will be singing at the blessing of the trees, please try to pop along.

Thank you to Mrs Westwood and all of the children who helped decorate our tree.
